May 12 update: The annual Diana’s Closet toiletries drive is winding down. Yellowknifers have been incredibly generous, donating a total of 1000 pounds of shampoo, diapers, toothbrushes, and the like to our clients. This is our most successful
year yet.

Items will be sorted and distributed to YWCA Yellowknife clients in Transitional Housing, at Alison McAteer House family violence shelter and in our Independent Living Services program in the next few weeks.

A huge thank you to the creative team at Outcrop for their attractive campaign materials.

About Diana’s Closet: Women and children often arrive at our family violence shelter with little more than the clothes they’re wearing, and with no money or access to money. We provide housing and food, but have nothing left over for pads, tampons, diapers, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, lotion, combs and brushes, etc. Likewise, people who live in emergency and transitional housing at Rockhill often don’t have anything left to cover hygiene products after paying for rent and food.

Items needed: toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, tampons, pads, diapers and baby care products.

Drop products off all year round at the YWCA Yellowknife Administration Office at 4904-54 Ave. (Rockhill).
