At YWCA NWT, we have initiated our Pandemic Response Plan. This plan outlines prevention and operational protocols ensuring our team and clients are safe and our essential work continues during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. We are sharing best practices and in regular communication with women's shelters across Canada, all who are doing their best to prioritize the health and safety of their residents and staff while continuing to provide life-saving shelter and services.

Housing staff are available to assist clients in our transitional and emergency housing programs. We recognize this may be a challenging time for our clients and continue to work with them to explore options for childcare, housing and access to Employment Insurance and other financial assistance programs. If you need assistance from the Housing staff, call the office at 1 (867) 873-5760. Please don't come to the Housing Office in person. We are working to gather community donations to provide grocery gift cards to families who are food insecure. Donate here

Lynn's Place, the multi-unit facility for women leaving a violent relationship or who are ready to find stability, remains open. Staff are working hard to ensure staff and clients living at the facility are safe, healthy and protected during this time.
