YWCA NWT Policies

This page provides access to key organizational policies that guide our operations, decision-making, and accountability. These policies support consistent, transparent, and responsible practices across the organization and will be updated as needed.

YWCA NWT uses various social media platforms to share news about our programs, provide resources to women, youth, and families, and share updates about events, photos, videos, interesting stories and news articles. We want to keep our social media pages an open forum, but we are also a family friendly and community organization and our aim is to provide a forum for healthy online discussion and feedback. For people who want to engage with us and our communities online, please follow our Social Media Engagement Policy.

Land Acknowledgement:

YWCA NWT acknowledges that our physical offices are located in Sǫ̀mba K'è on Chief Drygeese Territory, in Treaty 8. This place is also known as Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. These are the traditional lands of the Yellowknives Dene and home to the North Slave Métis peoples. We acknowledge that we provide services within the entirety of the Northwest Territories within many traditional territories of Indigenous Peoples. We are grateful to the many Indigenous peoples of the NWT for allowing us the opportunity to learn, work, serve, and live on their lands.
