Sponsor a family this Christmas!
The holidays can be a very stressful time for families on fixed or low incomes. Parents must often choose basic necessities over a special meal or gifts for their children. By sponsoring a family in the YWCA housing program or staying in shelters this holiday season, you can help give kids a Christmas morning they otherwise may not have and spread some holiday joy.

Here's how the YWCA NWT holiday family sponsorship program works:

Review the Gift Value Guidelines on this page to determine which family size suits your budget or that of your workplace or organization;

Email us at giving@ywcanwt.ca and let us know what family size you would like to sponsor;

We'll let you know the child's age, gender, if they are a single parent or 2 parent/guardian family, and a wish list (if we have received one from the family);

Go shopping! (or supply gift cards if that is your preference);

Drop off unwrapped gifts and grocery gift cards at the YWCA NWT housing office on the date/time provided in the e-mail sent out to sponsors - parents like to know the gifts their children are receiving. We'll send you a reminder e-mail with dates, times, and locations for drop-off.
